Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She was widely credited as the pioneer of modern studies of memory recall by eyewitnesses, and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman, who has numerous research publications as well as numerous grants to her name and is the recipient of numerous international and national distinctions. She has consulted with various governments and agencies across the globe regarding policy and the research of child victimization in the court system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
